Moving SCADA to the browser: what really changes on the floor
Web SCADA is not just a new screen. It changes who can see the plant, how fast alarms reach people and how the system must be secured.

Traditional SCADA lives on a few fixed stations in the control room. A web SCADA runs in any browser, which sounds like a small change until you see what it does to a plant.
More people can see the process
Maintenance, quality and management can follow the same live screens from wherever they are, with each role seeing only what it needs. Problems get noticed by the person who can fix them.
Alarms become conversations
Alarms can carry context - trends, the last similar event, the recommended response - and reach the right phone instead of a horn in an empty room. Add AI on top and the system can suggest the likely cause before anyone opens a cabinet.
Security has to be designed in
Opening the plant to the browser also opens it to risk. A web SCADA should never go live without:
- A separate OT network with a controlled path to the business network.
- Role-based access and multi-factor sign-in for every user.
- Read-only views by default, with write access only where it is needed.
- Monitoring that records who changed what, and when.
